GRP / GRE Pipe Products

FRP composite pipe is also referred to as GRP i.e. glass reinforced plastic pipe, because the majority of the manufactured products are reinforced with glass fibres. While not as stylish as powerboats and sports cars and often buried and out of sight, glassfibre reinforced plastic (GRP) / glassfibre reinforced epoxy (GRE) composite pipe has little to show in the way of glamour. But that doesn't keep the functional and durable composite application from providing steady growth for pipe manufacturers and their raw material suppliers.

Pipes for sewage and potable water transportation continue to be the single largest growth driver for GRP and account for close to 70 of all GRP usage. GRP pipes (buried and above-ground) continue to be the single largest application of polymer composites in the country.

Glass Reinforced Epoxy (GRE) piping system offers complete solution for offshore environment against highly corrosive fluids at various pressures, temperatures, adverse soil and weather conditions (especially in oil exploration, desalination, chemical plants, fire mains, dredging, portable water etc.)

The global GRP / GRE pipe industry has been getting stronger in response to market changes that started in the late 1990s. And in spite of rising material costs that can be traced to record high crude oil and natural gas pricing, composite pipe remains competitive. The sector is gaining market share at the expense of pipe made with commodity materials such as iron and concrete.
