DESCRIPTION : White to yellow powder to reddish brown bulky crystalline Powder with specific aromatic odour.

SOLUBILITY : Very soluble in chloroform, ether. Slightly soluble in alcohol. Insoluble in water.

LOSS ON DRYING : Not more than 2.0 %

RESIDUE ON IGNITION : Not more than 1.5 %

MELTING POINT RANGE : Between 65oC to 69oC

ASSAY : Between 43% to 47% of Iodine content on dry basis

APPLICATION : Oral antiseptic
