Steam Moisture Separator

Moisture separator is equipment used to separate water droplet from vapor or from steam. It is indeed very important industrial equipment. Moisture separators are also referred as steam separators. They are available in very simplest to very complex form depending upon their work function. The simple form of a moisture separator could be seen fitted on the opening of a boiler of a steam engine. Complex forms of moisture separator are fitted with a mechanism to spin the steam and throw out the water droplets using centrifugal force. In any kind of machine or mechanism it is very important to remove water drops from the steam because they could affect the mechanism in different ways like it can block heat and reduce thermal efficiency in engines, piston engines can have hydraulic lock and it even affects the working of a thermal power station. Above all moisture can also cause wear and tear issues like rust formation, washing away of lubricants and corrosion.
